Choosing an eBook Format (Part I)

Many authors new to eReaders might assume that getting their book designed for electronic viewing is much the same as having a print book designed. However, this is rarely the case. There can often be significant differences in the way an electronic book looks when compared to your printed version.

Choosing the right eBook file type and platform can be critical to the success of your eBook. While there are a number of different eBook options from which to choose, this article will concentrate on the main devices currently selling well, and allowing authors a better chance at visibility and sales. These include the Amazon KindleTM, Barnes & Noble NookTM, Apple iPadTM, and the old standby, an Adobe Acrobat PDFTM with active element.
